Monday 10 July 2017

On 10 July 2017 Teresa represented the Otago and Southland Chinese Association at the AGM of the DMEC. The DMEC organises many community activities and support for new migrants and people in Dunedin on temporary visas. There has been significant liaison with the Red Cross in relation to supporting the Syrian refugees in Dunedin. The Chai and Chat Group for migrant women continue to meet every Friday at the Community House. There is a community garden at the Musselburgh School which has been producing many vegetables and providing social connection for participants. The DMEC Committee continues to meet once a month and is looking for new members for the Committee – contact Jocelyn Singh at jocelyn_07@outlook.com for further information, or visit their website at www.dmec.org.nz
